There are more than 3 million children orphaned or vulnerable in Kenya today. We work to establish and enhance programs that safely return orphaned and vulnerable children to families.
Sponsor a childThrough proven methods of tracing, assessment and family preparation, children are returning home to biological families, adoptive and foster families. At Zoe Ministries, we are committed to fighting for the only thing that will ultimately end the orphan crisis: Family.
The goal: Always Family.
As many as possible, as safely as possible, as soon as possible.
Over the past year, our orphan care mindset has shifted. Our model now focuses on reuniting orphaned and vulnerable children with families and working to erase practices that lead to family separation. The above statistics represent our new model fully implemented as of spring 2023.
We work with local communities to find the best sustainable solution to best serve their needs, whether it’s a new well, or rehabilitating an old well.

Only family can provide: protection, love, and identity
We work to preserve family structures and prevent unnecessary family separation. That means coming alongside at-risk families and walking with them in their journey towards stability, wholeness, and independence.
When a child does have to be separated from their biological family (either temporarily or permanently), the solution is still family. We offer family based alternative care, rather than the traditional institutionalized orphanage model. Even still, reunification, fostering, and local adoption remains our ultimate goal.
We are committed to changing the orphan care narrative. Through education and advocacy, we seek to empower the local church and it’s body to be change agents in the family-based care movement.
“Family gives children a sense of belonging, identity and acceptance which are vital for a child’s well-being."

Through your sponsorship of $40 or more a month, you can help win the battle of getting orphaned children home.
Beads, the Chepokilipa people, and life change? Yep, you read that correctly.
It’s estimated that young girls miss about 20% of the school year due to women’s health issues and the stigma surrounding it in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Prior to the reunification of some of our children, Lydia and her team spend time building skillsets for goods or services that are valuable in the markets. For Rael’s family, that skill is soap making!
